Spartanburg Foster Care > Foster Parent Support

The Spartanburg County Foster & Adoptive Parent Association (FAPA) meet once a month to provide licensed foster parents with informative trainings on a variety of topics that will help meet the requirements of your licensure.  Attending monthly meetings allow you to meet with other foster parents who you can talk with about foster parenting issues.  The Association sponsors various events throughout the year for their families such as the Annual Christmas Party for foster families, skate nights, easter egg hunts and other fun activities for your family.  There are opportunities within the association to join committees, be a part of planning various activities or serving as an officer of the Association.  There are lots of ways to be involved with the Foster Parent Association.

The South Carolina Foster Parent Association sponsors a yearly training conference for foster parents throughout the state of South Carolina.  The next conference will be held at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Greenville - April 22 - 23 - 24, 2010.  www.scfpa.com

The National Foster Parent Association is the only national organization which strives to support foster parents and remains a consistently strong voice on behalf of all children.  Licensed foster parents can link to their website to earn training credits for re-licensure.  Visit their site at www.nfpanic.org.
